Episode 19: Season 2

It’s so good to be back! Our Season 2 opener is finally ready to be revealed and we both hope that you enjoy it and that you’ll tell others. If you’re a past listener you will notice that the show is very different. We think it’s a good kind of different and would love to know what you all think.

Our featured blogger, Annie, was amazingly brave in allowing us to feature her blog for our Season 2 debut and we encourage all of our listeners to visit her at her blog and drop her a line here: Knittibell (Thank you Annie!)

Music this week comes to us from the amazing band The Brook Lee Catastrophe. Definitely visit their site, buy their album, and if they’re in your area check them out. You won’t be sorry.

Wow. You guys are fantastic! I was nervous about this, and Wen, you did such a great job! I cried into my wine like a crazy person, but, you know, in a good way. Thanks to both of you. I really appreciate it.

I just have to say… Wow. It’s very easy for me to get caught up in the stresses of life and forget that even though I want to flick my husband in the head once in a while, at least we’re together. I don’t know what I would do if something happened to him. Annie’s story made me want to go home and hold onto him. Thank you for bringing her story to us.

  3. Donica Says:

It’s a departure-but a good one. The Knittibell story really moved me. I like the the blog feature so I hope you keep it up! Great to listen to you guys!

This particular episode hit me hard. As much as we tout that we’re “strong” and “tough” when someone is ripped away from you without warning, nothing in the world matters anymore. I sincerely hope that enough people listen to this, and feel the immense sense of gratefulness for their lives, loved ones, and whatever sense of routine they have that they’re accustomed to. And it makes me ill to think that our justice system is going to allow the murderess who destroyed Annie’s life to go scott-free.

  5. Holly Says:

Wonderful podcast. I am a first-time listener, but I am glad I found you. Thank you for pointing me to Annie’s blog. It certainly puts things into perspective, and I imagine that most of us could use that!

  6. Scott Says:

You have both really outdone yourselves. This was professional, well written, well produced, and gripping. I’ve already listened twice through. Annie is both vulnerable and strong and most important, she’s real. Wendy, you did an exceptional job reading her entry. (you should look into being a reader for books on tape/cd) I admit I misted up. I tip my hat off to the two of you and expect that some day very soon you’ll have your own radio/television show and I can say that I was one of your fist fans.

Bravo Wendy and Marty. You both show real talent and class.

  7. Brooke Says:

I agree with everyone. You guys are incredible. Annie is incredible. The Brook Lee Catastrophe is incredible and I LOVE the new theme song. I’d love to hear the whole thing.

I can’t wait for the next episode!

  9. Annie Says:

Thank you all, for your very kind words. Wen, I was nervous about doing this- I didn’t plan to leave the post up, and the whole thing was a bit hard. But any doubts I had were gone when I listened to the podcast. You and Marty really did an amazing job. And I’m very grateful to everyone for their kind words. Life really bites you in the ass sometimes. But I’m pretty determined to keep forging ahead, even though sometimes, it’s incredibly hard.
